I've been using the vacuum cleaner for almost 2 months as a successor to Roomba 895.
And I must say that for me the investment (800 EUR are already a house number) has been fully rewarded.

With this model and the suction station, irobot managed to fulfill almost all my wishes to a suction robot.

As with the Fritz!Box, registration in W-LAN has worked very quickly and easily.

Before the Roomba i7 can fully show his skills, he must first meet the apartment.
There is a kind of training mode in the irobot app. One should try to protect sensitive areas/balances in a precautionary manner or to clean them away for training. After about 3 training passages, during which it is also sucked, it creates a so-called smartmap. Here all the rooms, as Roomba recognized them, are shown in the floor plan.
The card can then be divided into different rooms, whereby individual rooms can also be separated again. Furthermore, protective areas can now be defined where the suction device is not to be moved. More attention has been paid to the fact that the Roomba obviously keeps greater distance than indicated in the app. Here you have to adjust the protection area somewhat, which unfortunately does not go during suction. I had to start from the charging station here again and again to see if the protection area is now optimally omitted, but the rest is still sucked thoroughly.

If all this has been carefully set up and a few expert rounds have been run, the robot unfolds all its strengths.

Before cleaning, it is possible to choose which rooms to be cleaned and whether to be cleaned simply or twice, or Roomba is supposed to separate them. It is also possible to decide whether to wipe with the Brava afterwards.
Timetables can also be created with cleaning intensity and individual rooms. So if you have rooms in which there is usually more dirt/dust, you can plan them individually with double cleaning. Unfortunately, it is not possible at present to set up timetables that will be wiped right after.

In contrast to the other models, Roomba i7 no longer cleanses cross and cross through the apartment, but goes very flat and flink to works. The cleaning then takes place essentially from room to room.
I must also say that it is not important to me anyway whether the vacuum cleaner performs the cleaning in lines, circles or zigzags. It's crucial that he's sucked clean at the end and he does. Once or twice, he didn't get a few stubborn crumbs on the carpet on a stool leg. But you also had to run several times with the vacuum cleaner.

In contrast to the 895, Roomba i7 also comes better on higher carpets. Here the 895 is even regularly hanging on the carpet edges. This has never happened to Roomba i7, even if it does not come on the carpet at any point.

After cleaning or when the suction container is full, the robot moves to the suction station and is emptied automatically there. This is very loud, but also takes only a few seconds. For this, it is no longer necessary to empty the suction robot itself. Because this was - filter back or forth - never entirely dust-free.
The vacuum cleaner bag in the station is still not full after 2 months.

What you should consider is that the roomba is not in the dark and therefore the cleaning only works properly in light. I believe that this can be planned without problems.

Despite the small weaknesses, I am still highly satisfied with the roomba i7 and I no longer want to miss it. Manually sucked dust is hardly any more.

My assessment if possible are 4.5 stars.

I have 4 cats in the house (in summer more outside than inside).
But they bring a lot of sand in and not to mention the fur.

My nephew pushed me to the iRobot because they have "only a cat" and this helper ensures the necessary cleanliness in the house!

So my nephew ordered me this suction robot at the beginning of the year and I am soooo grateful to him!

Roomba - my hot Kerstin - leaves the hallway in the morning and on two days of weeks the living room and the bedroom.

I would never have believed how clean it is with me now - every TAG!!!

ABER the wiping function is not mature. In summer super, in winter rather moderate.
And yet I can leave someone in the house at any time, because it always looks neat.

We are now using Roomba i7+ for a strong half year, and we are therefore finally hoping to write a fun and punctual review with our experiences:

Why even the Roomba i7+?

To be honest, we decided to have a short comparison and market check for the iRobot Roomba i7+. Why? Because the reviews were good and the Roomba i7+ (hereinafter simply called “Robby”) has a suction station. Since he has 4 rooms and 135 square meters to suck with us, a model with a suction station was recommended to me in the acquaintance circle due to the “thickness quantity”.

First steps

The first operation goes quickly and easily from the hand: Robby out of the packaging, download app to the smartphone, let's go. The facility is intuitive and was done with us after 3 minutes. Then it's about mapping the apartment. The Robby rides eagerly, wild cross and across the apartment. Don't let it be deterred - he certainly didn't drink! After he was on his way for a while and went back to the “Home-Base”, he presents a first, but rather detailed map of the apartment - but at first there is chaos. It is essential to set up space separators on the map and to name the rooms. This has the advantage that you can place heavily frequented rooms such as the living room individually. Now the first step is done! Tip: Robby also creates the card if you simply send it to work without mapping. Then it will take much longer.

Experiences of the first days

After Robby had acted like a full-brainer during the mapping as described above, I was initially disappointed, thought: that can be cheered. But these doubts were fortunately scattered during the first suction application: He drives clean lanes, drives directly into the selected room after order and at the end even turns a round of honors along the edge of the room. The suction power is great and surprised, we thought at first that we would have to try the classic vacuum cleaner every two weeks at the latest - but it is now on the storage track or space. Only negatively surprised us the volume. It's acceptable, but it's louder than you might imagine or wish. In particular, the suction in the Home Base equals a jet for about 5 to 10 seconds.

Long-term experience

As we know, man gets used to every comfort quickly. So also we - the Robby has good to do, is actually sent to work every day. He's doing great overall, just disappointed us once: Why did he take the curve too early in the hallway, drove against the wall and stopped after 2 minutes, as “something was in the way”. But then, relief: The next day he was the old man.
Our newly bought, about 1 cm high carpet runners for our two corridors could and cannot stop the Robby - he faithfully performs his service and also regularly frees these for about 4 weeks from dirt, dust and lint. These can also be found very quickly on all reels and parts. Accordingly, regular maintenance is indispensable. This, like the cost of wear parts, must be clearly planned.

Conclusion: Robby was one of the few products we bought more or less blind. We have not regretted it until today. He almost belongs to the family, so I can't say anything other than recommending the little helper with the best conscience!

We have dogs and cats for a long time and who wants to suck a whole house every day? Therefore, for many years, several suction robots, mostly iRobot, but also 2 China products, have been part of our household appliances.

However, the suction robot also saves you not the annoying and not just appetizing cleaning work on the device itself. On the one hand, there is the bristley brush which must be freed from human and, above all, animal hair and on the other hand the dust container which must be emptied. As with all bagless suckers, this does not go without larger or smaller dust cloud. Unreasonable for dust allergies.

A few months ago we first set up a roomba with two rubber rollers. This was already a significant improvement, since hardly any hair accumulates. Only at the two ends of the axes there are hair sausages, but they are quick and easy to remove.
And as a housewife, I've still had a great sound that I don't need a suction station, for the price I can empty the container well myself.

Now I had to find out that the Roomba 981 was even more stupid than our previous robots. Even my husband encouraged me to buy a roomba with a suction station.

So I7+ came to the house.

Included are the suction robot, the suction station with included dust bag, 1 additional dust bag, 1 virtual wall/radus, 1 filter, 1 side brush, power cable for the suction station and the instructions.

In short: Despite Mankos, I wouldn't give him any more!

More detailed means:

The suction station is loud, but ingenious. A suction passage to sleep times is not advisable, at least on the same floor, even if the suction takes only a few seconds. Depending on the background (uneven wooden planks, thresholds etc.), the vacuum cleaner is also not absolutely quiet.

The robot is oriented with camera, not with laser. I am somewhat critical with laser, as here the opinions on health risks (eyes, even with lying pets - our dogs stay
sometimes even lie down until they are tempered).
Advantage: flatter construction than with laser, safe from health
Disadvantage: cannot navigate in the dark, as no night vision camera, problems on dark
Floors/Teppichen, sometimes stumbles against furniture or objects despite mapping

Through the predecessors, we already had the app in operation. So only the old model had to be deleted and the new Roomba added, as well as Alexa. The iRobot app is easy to download and the connection with Alexa is quick and easy.

The application of the app is quite versatile. We use the I7+ in 3 floors, all have been mapped and divided into areas/rooms. So he can also be sent to just one area. You can buy suction stations separately on the Internet, but with €500/600 this is indiscusable. I also like to wear the suction cup up and down.

On the floor where the suction station is located, the suction unit goes to the station and empties. He then recharges to full capacity.
In the other floors he cleanses the desired areas and returns to the starting point and reports the end of this layer with a pitch. Now you can carry it back, there is a handle, press the Home button and then marches very targeted to its Clean Base and emptys and loads.

You can also set up blocking zones that the Roomba should not drive. We have an open staircase. Although the floors with wooden planks have almost an identical color as the stairs, it can distinguish this and does not crash. But on one side, besides a small dresser, a narrow passage is just as wide as the Roomba. Since the suction robot has to turn here, the space is not enough and there is a danger that it will pass over the abyss. At first I used the virtual wall that can be used as a line and as a radius. But I should have taken this to the upper floor. Therefore, a blocking zone was set up in both floors in the area of the stairs. And that works so far wonderfully.

As with 981, the suction performance is very good on smooth floors, we have no proper carpets. However, it does not like our dirt-catching mats, which are dense and very short-floor. Here, the suction power is insufficient with regard to animal hair. However, since these are only small carpets that can be quickly dehaired with the dog bar and often also washed, this is the smaller evil for me.

Those who have dogs or cats are better served here with the two rubber rollers than with bristle rollers.

Yes, there are follow-up costs such as filters, side brushes and dust bags. But this is at least partly given to each vacuum cleaner. And whoever buys a Porsche, he must not be upset about the cost of an inspection etc. If I am ready to pay €700/800 for a suction robot, then I should pay about €2.50 for a dust bag for approx. Thirty emptyings don't upset.

Generally, the price of currently € 724.99 is already heavy, but whether one is worth the suction station, everyone has to decide for themselves.

I am worth the I7+ because it is the price for more leisure and also for a little convenience.
Man doesn't have to have him, but he makes life a little more liveable! For this I also buy the price with badly sucked dirt trap mats and forgive 4 stars.

everyday practicality:

• Roomba i7+ was a life savior in a variety of situations. Its ability to distinguish between different spatial types and to clean them in a targeted way was particularly helpful. After an evening with friends and a resulting mess, the targeted cleaning under the dining table was an invaluable feature.

Powerful accessories:

• Each piece of accessories seems to be thought-out and focused on maximizing the efficiency of the robot. The Dual Mode Virtual Wall barrier enabled me to block certain areas of my home, which is particularly useful to keep the robot away from sensitive areas.
• Extra filters and side brushes were also included in the package, which facilitates the long-term maintenance of the device and gives me the feeling as a buyer of added value.

Automation and adaptation:

• The possibility to adapt and automate the cleaning processes of Roomba i7+ was a big plus. It fits seamlessly to my schedule and the specific needs of my apartment.

Investment and value:

• In view of the considerable price, I've been looking for a device that offers convincing features and accessories that make a difference in my daily routine. Roomba i7+ has delivered in this respect by providing constant performance and user-oriented features that make everyday life much easier.

Conclusion:

• For someone who is willing to invest in a premium cleaning device, Roomba i7+ offers a significant counter value and an extensive set of accessories and functions that justify each output and transform the household cleaning process.

The vacuum cleaner makes a very good work, had beforehand the forework Robi which was significantly worse in cleaning performance and also operation.
Criticism only on Amazon, we are currently running a repair, here it takes forever to find out whether the device has arrived in the factory statue. Amazon needs 10 days from the date of dispatch to confirm the receipt of goods. I do not dare to judge at all about the further course, if it goes on that way, that was for us as a KUnde to purchase articles from Amazon Elektronik! I've been thinking a long time. The vacuum cleaner is not now cheap. We have two long-haired cats and a Labrador. Of course, there is always a lot of fur and dust. The Roomba is designed as a supplement so that I don't always have to get the normal vacuum cleaner out. Just in the kitchen where the dog is often lying, hair collects. (I bought a cheap model for 70€ from Dirt Devil a few years ago. It doesn't show up at all and has sailed down the stairs when used.)
The device works high quality and well processed.
I was a little afraid of the robot's setup, because I am not necessarily the most technologically talented person. But I was also positively surprised and impressed here. The cartographer is super easy. The device does everything by itself and the Roomba app is simply self-explanatory. Tolerably still set up protective zones so that the robot does not strike against the water tap. You can also let it suck individual rooms that you name on the map. The suction power is also very good. Now "Dennis" turns like my children have baptized him with us his rounds. It's enough a home base. In the other floors, you simply put Dennis on the floor and he lays loose. Then he is collected and returned to the base. Thanks to the suction of the dirt, you don't have to roll in the robot's collecting cassette to empty it. Yes, the suction station is loud. (Comparable with these Dyson hand drying equipment in pubs and restaurants.) But for me an absolute must.
And he doesn't crash stairs either. When setting up the card and also at the first suction inserts, I have been skeptically monitored and waiting for the polter to become eye-catching. But he really slows down and pulls back.
Meanwhile, he is also connected to Alexa so that you don't always have to use the app by phone.
In the big and the whole, I don't know why I waited so long with a suction robot. I have a clear recommendation. 😄👍
